Anna-Mercedes has returned to Ceramics after a break to bring up children. She says "it's like being with old friends again; safe and familiar."

Having spent the last year exploring new ways to re-invent her work, Anna-Mercedes has kept the same themes but the approach and techniques are very different. The introduction of screen-printing techniques to build up subtle layering and add new imagery to lift and enhance the bases, has given the work a new edge. The figures are now hollow and made with rolled slabs, different clays have been mixed to give individual qualities to the pieces.
