George, working from his studio in Newcastle on Tyne, makes functional and decorative ceramics. He uses coloured slips and exciting glazes with stunning effect. Some of his work is inspired by the ceramics of the 50's and 60's and uses a technique similar to batik, with different resists to creat the patterns. His most recent work is more minimal with sleeker lines and with shapes influenced by the Bauhaus and Japanese pottery.
