Working on a manually-operated woodframed loom, Nick Ozanne creates not a throw-away object
but a classic heirloom piece that can be rediscovered and reinterpreted over the following years,
a direct reaction against the current throw-away society.
He uses only natural fibres such as silk and wool as they work with the needs of the human body to provide comfort,
warmth and tactile reassurance, as well as improving and softening with age and use.
The pieces are meant to be used; to be touched, stroked, caressed and lie against
the skin, providing a feeling of luxurious softness.

Inspired by various themes from the novel 'Brideshead Revisited', portraits in London's National Gallery, glazed
cakes in a French Patisserie and his old school ties, Nick handweaves and handfinishes a range of
items from unisex scarves with matching ties, to lambswool blankets and cushions.
Graduating from the Winchester School of Art, where he gained a degree in woven textiles, he launched his
studio label 'Leto & Ariadne' in London in 2009, and the following year relocated
to Gloucestershire to establish his weaving studio.
